Zebra RFD40 Accessory Selection Guide

The Zebra RFD40 is a great RFID handheld /sled for data collection of UHF (RAIN RFID) tags. The device is typically connected via Bluetooth to a device running iOS, Android, or Windows where the smart device serves as the display for the user and the Zebra RFD40 assists with collecting RFID tags.

The Zebra RFD40 series consists of three models—Standard, Premium, and Premium Plus—each offering different levels of functionality:

  • RFD40 Standard: The basic model—reads RFID tags fast and accurately but doesn’t have Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. It connects directly to Zebra mobile devices.
  • RFD40 Premium: Adds wireless features, like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. This lets you connect it to smartphones and other devices without cables.
  • RFD40 Premium Plus: The most advanced version. It includes a barcode scanner, so it can read both RFID tags and barcodes. It also has all the wireless features of the Premium model.

There are quite a few accessories available for the Zebra RFD40 that will allow you to expand the use of your RFID device.

The charging solutions for the RFD40 Sled provide users with a flexible way to power up the sled and mobile computer in a variety of ways. Featuring 2 sets of charging pins, each cradle cup can charge the RFD40 Sled by itself, the mobile computer by itself, or the combination of the RFD40 Sled and mobile computer when attached together. There are various options available for charging cradles for the Zebra RFD40 including.

Single Slot Cradles

A single-slot charging cradle 1-Slot Charging Cradle to charge the Zebra RFD40 along with the 1 Mobile Computer. It is compatible with the Zebra RFD40 Standard RFID Sled, Zebra RFD40 Premium RFID Sled, and Zebra RFD40 Premium Plus RFID Sled.

Single Slot Charge- Communication ShareCradle - Universal/3rd Party

The Single Slot Charge-Communication ShareCradle is designed to charge both the Zebra RFD40 RFID sled and mobile computers, either individually or together when attached. It also enables USB communication for the RFD40, but not for the mobile computers. However, it does not support spare battery charging.

The Bluetooth Adapter allows mobile computers to be mounted on the Zebra RFD40 RFID sled, enabling wireless communication with the reader. It supports docking both the RFD40 and mobile computers in Single or Multi-Slot ShareCradles. However, it requires the Premium or Premium Plus version of the RFD40, as only these models offer Bluetooth connectivity.

DESCRIPTION

  • Cups can be installed on Single Slot SharedCradle Base or Multi-Slot ShareCradle Base.
  • Provides Charge-Only support or Charge+Communications support for an RFD40 unit and/or TC21/TC26/EC50/55/ TC51/52/52x/52ax/56/57/57x, depending on which Cradle Base type installed on.
  • Includes USB-A port on rear of cup which is reserved for future enhancements.
  • Cup uses enhanced Zebra common ShareCradle design which allows the cup to be easily removed and swapped with different cups using a simple coin turned screw.
