CSL CS108 UHF RFID Reader Accessory Selection Guide

The CS108 UHF RFID Reader is a handheld RFID reader that is designed to be used with UHF (RAIN) RFID tags. This UHF RFID reader has one of the longest read ranges on the market (up to 20 meters) and can work well in demanding, industrial environments. The device is typically connected via Bluetooth to a device running iOS, Android or Windows where the smart device serves as the display for the user and the CSL CS108 assists with collecting RFID tags.

The CS108 UHF RFID Reader is available with or without a 2D barcode imager. If you choose the model with the 2D imager, you will be enabled with both RFID and barcode/QR code reading capabilities.

The CS108 has a few key accessories to make the use of the RFID reader a more pleasant experience. These accessories come in two categories: charging and mounting.

For charging, the CS108 comes with a USB cable, which is included with your purchase of the RFID reader.

For additional battery life, you may also choose to purchase the CS108B Spare Battery, shown in the example below, which can be swapped out at any point in the use of your CS108 RFID reader to enable you with twice as much battery time.

For additional charging efficiency, you may also opt for the CS108C Dual External Battery charger, shown below, which can charge up to two CS108 batteries at the same time.

Coming soon, the CS108 will also have a charging cradle that enables you with the capability to charge the CS108 sled and host mobile device with USB connectivity. Please check back again for the part number or contact us to inquire about the pending release of the charging cradle.

For mounting, CSL offers a few different types of clamps which can be used for different devices to be mounted to the CS108 UHF RFID Reader.

The Standard Mount that is included in the CS108 package, shown below, is designed for typical smart-phones sized with a width range from 65 mm (2.56 inches) to 115 mm (4.53 inches) and a thickness range from 7 mm (0.28 inches) to 15 mm (0.59 inches).

Should you attempt to mount your smart device to your CS108 and find that it is too thick for the mount, CS108 has a wider version, shown below, which is designed for devices with a width range from 105mm (4.13inches) to 150 mm (5.90 inches).

Should you attempt to mount your smart device to your CS108 and find that it is too high for the mount, CS108 also has a higher version, shown below, which is designed for devices with a height range from 15 mm (0.59 inches) to 28 mm (1.10 inches) as well as a width range from 65 mm (2.56 inches) to 115 mm (4.53 inches).
