FAQs:

What is Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) Kickstart RFID labels?

These are durable RFID labels made from PET material, measuring 4 inches by 1 inch. They're designed to be printed and encoded with RFID data for tracking and identification purposes, offering both a printable surface and embedded RFID functionality.

What applications are these labels commonly used for?

These labels are ideal for asset tracking, inventory management, logistics, retail, and warehouse operations. Their PET construction makes them especially suited for environments where durability and resistance to moisture or abrasion are needed.

Are these labels compatible with all RFID printers?

These labels are typically compatible with UHF RFID-enabled thermal transfer printers, such as Zebra, Sato, and TSC printers. Always check printer specifications to ensure support for 4" x 1" RFID labels.

What is the read range of these RFID labels?

The read range can vary depending on the reader, antenna, and environment, but typically, UHF PET RFID labels like these offer a read range of 10 to 20 feet in optimal conditions.

What RFID chip is embedded in the Kickstart label?

These labels often feature an Impinj Monza R6 or R6-P chip (or similar UHF chips), offering fast read performance, good memory options, and EPC Gen 2 (ISO 18000-6C) protocol compliance.

Can these labels be used on metal surfaces?

Standard PET RFID labels are not designed for direct application to metal surfaces. If metal application is required, look for metal-mount or on-metal-compatible RFID labels.

How durable are PET RFID labels?

PET is a synthetic material known for chemical resistance, UV stability, and moderate heat tolerance, making these labels well-suited for indoor and outdoor use in semi-harsh environments.

Can I print barcodes and text on these RFID labels?

Yes. These labels are designed for thermal transfer printing, allowing you to print barcodes, QR codes, serial numbers, or human-readable text alongside the encoded RFID data.

What adhesive is used on these labels?

They typically feature a permanent pressure-sensitive adhesive, suitable for adhering to a wide range of surfaces including cardboard, plastic, and painted metals. Adhesive specs may vary by manufacturer.

Are the PET Kickstart RFID labels reusable?

These labels are generally single use, as removing them can damage the antenna or adhesive layer. However, they are designed for long-term attachment and data retention on assets or products.

Where is the best location to attach the TagMatiks PET Kickstart 4" x 1" RFID Label?

Answer:
The TagMatiks PET Kickstart 4" x 1" RFID Label is best attached to non-metallic surfaces such as plastic containers, cardboard boxes, wood, and other smooth materials. For optimal adhesion and RFID performance, ensure the surface is clean, flat, and dry before applying the label. Avoid placing the label on metal surfaces or highly curved objects unless specifically tested for those conditions.

What is the read range of the TagMatiks PET Kickstart 4" x 1" RFID Label?

Answer:
With a fixed UHF RFID reader, the TagMatiks PET Kickstart 4" x 1" RFID Label can typically be read from up to 15-20 feet (approximately 4.5 to 6 meters) under ideal conditions. The actual read range depends on factors such as reader power, antenna configuration, tag placement, and the environment. Handheld readers generally offer a shorter read range, usually around 6 to 12 feet depending on the device and scanning orientation.
